Monday, 5/5/14, Captiva Fishing Report: Tough Fishing ~ Sanibel, Captiva & North Captiva, #Captiva

Redfish, 5-5-14, Sanibel & Captiva Islands & Fort Myers Charters & Fishing Guide Service.

On today’s Captiva fishing charter, after many days of superb fishing, today was tough fishing!

There was very little tidal movement.  The water wasn’t moving at all in the bay and the passes, and there was a north wind and ground swell which made going offshore too rough.

We still caught some fish!  Redfish, sea trout and grouper!

Today Captain Joey took the day off to go tarpon fishing with some fellow local captains. They hooked and landed this huge 180 pound tarpon. They were trying to tell the tarpon to chill out so that they could pull the hook out of his mouth but for some reason he just was not listening.
