Captiva Fishing, Thursday, November 19, 2015: Red Tide ~ #Sanibel #Captiva

Captiva Fishing, FWC, Red Tide Midweek Report, 11-18-15.
Captiva Fishing, FWC, Red Tide Midweek Report, 11-18-15.

Captiva Fishing, Red Tide Report.

Thursday, November 19, 2015, Captiva fishing & Sanibel fishing, red tide is having a significant impact on Sanibel Island’s beaches and the gulf side, far less so on Captiva Island.

We’re staying away from the gulf and fishing the bay side and avoiding the red tide when we do venture into the gulf.  Fishing on the inshore side has been good.  No red tide issues.

Here’s a summary of FWC’s midweek report:

“… background to medium concentrations in 15 samples collected in, along, and offshore of Lee County … FWC continues to receive reports of fish kills in bloom areas in both Northwest and Southwest Florida.

Forecasts by the USF-FWC Collaboration for Prediction of Red Tides show westerly movement of bloom patches in Northwest Florida and little net movement of bloom patches in Southwest Florida over the next three days.”

Here’s the story in the news-press.

FWC will release the Friday report around noon/E today and we will do a post.
