Friday, 5/23/14, on today’s Captiva fishing charter: Tarpon biting well inshore of Captiva Island.

Today, both Captains Joey and Josh took their charters tarpon fishing inshore of Captiva Island.

On Captain Josh’s charter, they stared the day off, not with a tarpon, but a huge nurse shark!

After they released the big guy, they quickly hooked up on a 100 pound tarpon. They jumped the fish seven times before landing him.

On Captain Joey’s charter, they too hooked up on a nice tarpon, roughly a 130 pounder. After enjoying the truly epic fight that a tarpon gives, they too landed their tarpon.

Thursday, 5/22/14, on today’s Captiva fishing charter: Tarpon caught in Boca Grand Pass

Today Captain Joey took a charter Tarpon fishing up in Boca Grand Pass.

Up in Boca Grand Pass Captain Joey’s charter quickly hooked up on a tarpon.

After about a 15 minute fight they landed this nice 100 pound tarpon inside Boca Grand Pass.

Today Captain Josh took a charter out tarpon fishing!

They jumped one tarpon, a 120 pounder, but lost him after the third jump. They did however land quite a few sharks!

And as always on captivafishing.net, after sharks were photographed Captain Josh removed the hooks from their mouths and released them back into their home no worse for wear.
