Cobia are both a great eating fish, and a great fighting fish. They usually live far offshore, so catching this one inshore is a rare event.

Yesterday, some fellow fishing guides and I were fishing in the PTTS, Professional Tarpon Tournament Series, and we got fifth place!

The fish that we caught weighed 124 pounds!

Here are some great videos from yesterdays charter of Tarpon jumping right at the boat.

We caught two fish and jumped seven more yesterday. The biggest of the two we caught was about 120 pounds.

It is good that the Tarpon have started to bite again, so come on down, book a charter and catch yourself a big one. Just remember to tell us that you want to go Tarpon fishing before we leave the dock, that way I can grab the right gear.

On today’s charter, we headed up to Fosters to try for Tarpon.

Unfortunately, the water is still a mess from yesterday and we couldn’t get the Tarpon to bite.

However, we did catch a bunch of little Sharks!

Hopefully the weather will allow the water to settle, so that we may resume to catch Tarpon.

Its a shame that this weather came through now, which should be the best Tarpon fishing of the year, but that’s why its called fishing not catching.
