Tarpon, 4-24-14, Sanibel & Captiva Islands & Fort Myers Charters & Fishing Guide Service.

On today’s Captiva fishing charters, Captains Joey and Josh took out charters.

Captain Josh took his charter back to the Sanibel oyster bar today. There his charter caught a bunch of big redfish.

Captain Joey took his charter tarpon fishing. They quickly hooked into a nice 100 pounder. We apologize about the poor quality of the video.

The tarpon are chewing, so if you want to catch one book a charter NOW and when you meet your captain at the dock tell them that you want to go tarpon fishing so that they can grab the right gear. Remember, if you wait more then about three weeks the tarpon bite will not be as good, so book as soon as possible if you want to catch a silver king!

Wednesday, 4/23/14, Captiva Fishing Report: The tarpon have arrived ~ Sanibel, Captiva & North Captiva, #Captiva

On today’s Captiva fishing charters, Captains Joey and Josh took out charters.

Captain Josh took his charter to the Sanibel oyster bar. There his charter caught five huge redfish and one monster sea trout.

Captain Joey took his charter and decided to try tarpon fishing. And we are pleased to say that the tarpon have arrived! Captain Joey’s charter jumped two nice tarpon and hooked into a third. Things were going as usual for a tarpon fight until it seemed like that the tarpon magically gained about 200 pounds.

It turns out that a nine foot, 300 pound bull shark had completely engulfed the tarpon and was now on the end of Captain Joey’s charter’s line. After a 30 minute fight, they managed to get the big boy to the boat. And as always, after this video was made Captain Joey cut the line letting this giant go home no worse for wear.

So the tarpon have finally arrived and these first two or three weeks will be the best tarpon fishing of the year, so book a charter now, and let Captain Joey or Josh that you want to go tarpon fishing so that they know to bring the right gear.
